The Two-Headed Dragon
Despite many political divisions and dissections by demarcation lines, the multinational region of Upper Silesia has always exhibited an
open-door policy for any instances of avant-garde. The area became the most progressive urbanistic experiment in Europe of the early 1930s
- a jigsaw with pieces taken straight from the drawing boards of the most reknown German and Polish architects, such as Dominikus Bohm,
Erich Mendelsohn, Hans Poelzig, Max Berg, Karol Schayer, Tadeusz Kozłowski and Tadeusz Michejda.
Two-Headed Dragon
is a journey along the twisted paths of the Mid-War period in Upper Silesia. We hope that embarking on that escapade,
armed with either a map or a remote control, you will be able to taste the vibrant atmosphere of the region and breathe a lungful of history.
And maybe, just maybe, the next time you gaze upon the wall of the building, you will be able to look past the grime and bricks - and
percieve something more, anything becomes interesting if you look at it long enough.
